The molybdenum was added, as described before, for hot hardness to allow the use of the steel at higher operating temperatures. The high molybdenum does have other effects on the steel, however.
Jun 16, 2009 · I think 154CM, with it's 14% carbon will come very close to the edge holding ability of carbon steels, and will also take a very sharp edge.
